It has been a little over a year since I cut my hair and boy what a year it has been! After spending God knows how much money on hair products âĻ I can finally say that I have found my routine for my natural hair. Itâs a one-stop-shop for natural beauty supplies and a natural hair care resource. She gives product consultations and recommendations according to the individual and their hair care needs. Not a one product fits all. She also has a salon area where they perform services for your hair. My experience there was wonderful and enlightening. I had my first appointment on a Friday, and after she was through âĻ I was quite pleased with the outcome!
Admittedly, my hair was thinning at the crown of my head due to wearing locks for the past 25 years. She recommended that I see a dermatologist to get a scalp analysis to make sure there was nothing more complicated going on with my scalp. I thought that was a great idea and was surprised because no other hair specialist had ever recommended that for me before. She gave me a shampoo, a steam treatment, trim, and what she calls KC curls, which defines the curls on your head. Its an interesting process because it helps with the memory of your curls. I wore locs for so long that when my hair dried my curl definition got lost.
This style will last a week or more, which is new for me since I normally canât go a day without having to wet my hair to get it to style since my hair is so dry. I am almost to a week now and my hair is still looking good! Another great thing was that Crystal had me bring in my stash of hair care products, to recommend what I should keep and what I should discard. I brought in a few, but once I got home I gathered my whole stash and donated them to some worthy causes.
I intend to go back to Kink and Curls on a regular basis.
